MRS. MINNIE BUTTS PASSES JANUARY 7 

Funeral services were held this Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock for Mrs. Minnie 
Myrtle Butts, 82, of Augusta, who died Tuesday morning in Allen Memorial 
hospital, El Dorado after an illness of several weeks. Rites were held in 
Dunsford Funeral Chapel with the burial in the Butts cemetery near Leon.

Minnie Myrtle Pike, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Pike, was born in Tonica, 
Ill., on October 7, 1881 and departed from this life on Tuesday, January 7, 
1964, at the age of 82 years and 3 months. She was married to Gilbert Butts in 
the home of her parents east of El Dorado on October 6, 1901.

Mrs. Butts and her husband resided on various farms, then moved to Wichita 
where they spent most of their married life. They lived on a farm near Leon, 
then moved to Augusta a few years ago, where she was residing at the time of 
her death.

She was a member of the Leon Christian church. 

She is survived by her husband of the home; two sons, Gilbert and Feth of 
Wichita; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Oliver 
Pike, Rosalia, and Harry Pike, San Bernardino, Calif., and a sister, Mrs. 
Nettie Menkeymeyer, Wichita.
