John ROBERTS, Sr. to son Richard ROBERTS from land patented 31 July 1730.

Know all men by these presents that I, John ROBERTS, Senr of the Province & 
County aforesaid planter, out of the true? large? favor & affection that i 
bear & convey to Richard ROBERTS my well beloved son of the Province & 
county aforesaid, planter have given & granted and by these presents do give 
& grant unto the sd. Richard ROBERTS his heirs executors and administrators 
or assigns one hundred & ten acres of land being part of a tract of land 
granted to the sd. John ROBERTS by his Excellency John Lord Carteret 
Palatine or doth appear by a patent bearing date the 31st July 1730 lying & 
being in the County of Carteret and in the Province aforesaid lying not he N 
East side of White Oak River beginning at an Ash Tree standing near the 
River Swamp and near the mouth of a small branch running from thence through 
the upper part of a Swamp called the White Oak Swamp to a poplar standing in 
the edge of the sd. swamp, thence up a small  to a pine tree thence a 
strait course to the head line of the patent about halfway between a great 
branch now called the Horn Branch & upper head corner tree of the patent, 
running from thence down the head line to the above sd. Horn Branch, thence 
down the various courses of the sd. Horn Branch to the River Swamp to the 
first station. To have & to hold the sd one hundred & ten acres of land be 
the same more or less lying and being as above and unto the sd. Richard 
ROBERTS his heirs and execs. admnstr., assigns forever from my heirs 
forever. And I hereby bind me my heirs not to molest or disturb the said 
Richard ROBERTS & his aforesaid int eh quiet possession of the said lands. 
In witness whereof I have signed and sealed by those presents this 23rd 
August 1756. The word bind was interlined before signed.

Then was the within deed proved in open court by the Oath of Maser HOUSTON,
