                      Joseph Floyd Dies In Local Hospital
 Funeral services for Joseph Stanley Floyd of Jeffersonville whose death in a 
local hospital early Thursday resulted from burns received while at work 
Wednesday afternoon, will be held at the Prospect Methodist Church near 
Jeffersonville at 11am Friday. The Rev. H. W. Scoates will officiate and 
burial will be in the Prospect Cemetery.
 Active pallbearers will be William Floyd, Wilson Floyd, Thomas Floyd, Johnnie 
B. Lynn, Edwin Floyd, and Joe Fowler. Honorary pallbearers will be olin 
Cannon, Doc Holliday, Doc Little, Walter Epps, J. C. Fountain, Earl Hamrick, 
David Califf, James Hamrick, Homer Lucas, and Zach Floyd.
 The body will lie in state in the church from 10:30am to 11am.
 Mr. Floyd was a lifelong resident of Twiggs County, the son of Dudley Floyd 
and Mrs. Ellen Lamb Floyd. He was employed by the county and was a member of 
the Prospect Methodist Church.
 Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Lou Floyd; three sons, Jesserell Floyd, 
Freddy Floyd, and Frederick Floyd, all of Jeffersonville; three daughters, 
Mrs, David Thompson, Miss Sue Floyd of Jeffersonville, and Mrs. Leonard Ham of 
Macon; three grandchildren; a brother, Terrell Floyd of Jeffersonville; five 
sisters, Mrs. T. L. Floyd, Mrs. Kate Sauls, Mrs. Everett, of Jeffersonville, 
Miss Annie Lou Floyd, and Mrs William Fowler, Danville; and several nieces and 
nephews.
 Hart's Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Additional Comments:
Joseph was born 3 Jan 1902. It is belived that the obituary is in error and 
his parents were Matthew J. Floyd and Elvie Ellen Grimsley Floyd. Georgia 
death certificate #19964.
