  Ernest O. Floyd

The sudden passing of Ernest O. Floyd, 60, last Saturday morning brought much
sorrow to his family, relatives, and friends.
Mr. Floyd was appointed marshal of Danville last December. He was most
conscientious in the performance of his duties. A special tribute was paid him
in the excellent way he handled a crowd of 2,000 visitors recently when the
Negro church celebrated its annual mission day.
Mr. Floyd had been in ill health the past year.
Survivors include his wife, three daughters; Mrs. Stella Jones, Danville, Mrs.
Sam Floyd, Cochran, and Miss Inez Floyd, Jacksonville; a son, James Floyd; a
brother and two sisters
