Mr. Robert H. Edwards
Dies at Camp Gordon

The death of Mr. R.H. Edwards of Jeffersonville occurred at Camp Gordon, GA, on
last Monday morning, May 27, 1918 at twenty-seven minutes past four o'clock
after an illness of only one week with pneumonia. Mr. Edwards was one of the
eleven men to leave this county in the second draft on April 26th. He was born
at Lake City, Fl on Aug 2, 1893, being twenty five years of age at the time of
his death.

Mr. Edwards was engaged in the hotel business here for the past three years,
being a proprietor of the Jefferson Hotel.  He was a young man well liked by
everyone and very popular among his large circle of friends.  He was the son of
Mr. and Mr. O.W. Edwards, of Lake City, FL, and is survived by his parents, his
wife, Mrs. Lucile McCrary Edwards, of Jeffersonville; and three brothers, Messrs
E. A. and W.L. Edwards of Savannah, GA, and Mr. D.C. Edwards of Jacksonville,
Fl.  The deceased had been a member of the Baptist church since early youth.

The remains were carried to the home of his parents Tuesday under Military
escort and were laid to rest Tuesday afternoon at five o'clcok in the City
cemetery with full Military honors.  Six of the soldier friends acting as pall
bearers.
