                    CHANCE
   The funeral service for Fred A. Chance, 66, of Route 2, Eastman, was held 
Thursday in the chapel of Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home, with interment in 
Orphans Cemetery.  Rev. Buford Tanner and Rev. Raymond E. Daniel officiated.
   Pallbearers were Edgar Grimes, James Dyal, Wayne Bearden, Charles Williams, 
Mike Simpson and Terry Shadix.
   Mr. Chance died February 14 in a Hawkinsville hospital.
   A lifelong resident of Dodge County, Mr. Chance was a retired automobile 
mechanic with Jones Chevrolet Company in Eastman.  He was a veteran of World 
War II. A member of American Legion Post 126 and Zebulon Baptist Church.
   Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Irene Hooks Chance, of Eastman, one 
sister, Mrs. Fred Beck, of Eastman, one brother, J. K. Chance, of Atlanta, 
several nieces and nephews.
