Lilly Bell (also known as Lillie Bell and maiden name Lucas) Carter was born
1-10-1901 and died 12-17-1945 (Ga. DC # 27512) and is buried at Mt. Zion
Cemetery in Twiggs County. Her father was Johnny Lucas and her mother was
Elizabeth Bell Arnold

 Funeral Held For Mrs. Z. R. Carter

Funeral services for Mrs. Lilly Bell Carter, 44, who died Monday at her home
near Danville, were held Tuesday at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The services
were conducted by the Rev. J. E. Townsend and Elder E. D. Bryant. Interment was
in the family lot in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Carter was born in Twiggs County, the daughter of the late Johnny Lucas and
Bell Arnold Lucas. Survivors include her husband, Z. R. Carter; one son, Johnny
H. Carter of Danville and one daughter, Mrs. Slema Wood of Macon. One brother,
J. S. Lucas of Danville; four sisters, Mrs. Nellie Nobles and Mrs. Gussie
Simpson of Danville, Mrs. Eunice Sanders of Macon and Mrs. Mattie Lucas of
Cochran also survive.
The pallbearers were W. E. Pope, C. Carter, Perue Carter, Need Lucas, Hoke
Lucas, and Justin Balls. Fisher Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral
arrangements.
