Johnnie Hugh Carter was born 10-3-1920 and died 2-5-1985 (GA DC# 004301) and is
buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Twiggs County. His parents, Zerunia "Zee" R.
Carter and Lillie/Lilly Bell Lucas Carter, are also buried there.

 Johnnie Hugh Carter

Funeral services for Mr. Johnnie H. Carter, 64, of Rt. 1, Danville, who died
Thursday, February 7, 1985 ( actually Tuesday, February 5, 1985 )in the Middle
Georgia Hospital, were held Thursday at 3:00PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with
Elder Cecil Darity, Elder Franklin Bryant, and Rev. Jeff Slaughter officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Carter was a lifelong resident of Twiggs County, the son of Z. R. and Annie
Bell (actually Lillie/Lilly Bell) Lucas Carter. He attended Cool Springs
Primitive Baptist Church, was retired from farming, and Georgia Kaolin.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Eddie Mae NeSmith Carter of Danville; two sons,
Richard A. Carter of Jeffersonville and Hugh W. Carter of Danville; three
daughters, Mrs. Sandra C. Smith of Belluve, Nebraska, Mrs. Linda C. Floyd of
Jeffersonville, and Mrs. Rebecca C. Harrison of Danville; one sister, Mrs. Selma
Wood of Danville; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchlidren.
Active pallbearers were Brady Floyd, Franklin Dame, Walton NeSmith, K. S.
Nobles, Mark Faulk, and Quinton Hill.
Honorary pallbearers were Jack Waters, Horace Arnold, Eddie Pettis, Woodroe
Little, Joseph Bryant, and Elder J. B. Little.
Fisher Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
