Robert M. "Bobby" Burns was born 4-4-1928 and died 9-22-2003 and is buried at
New Richland Baptist Church Cemetey in Twiggs County. His father, Mercer Burns,
is buried at Evergreen Cemetery in Bleckley County. His mother, Annie Clara Bell
Asbell Burns, is buried at New Richland Cemetery in Twiggs County.

Robert "Bobby" Burns

-COCHRAN - Funeral services for Mr. Robert "Bobby" Burns, 75, of Cochran, who
died Monday, September 22, 2003 in Bleckley Memorial Hospital, will be held
Wednesday, September 24, 2003 at 3:30P.M. in the Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home.
Burial will be in New Richland Cemetery in Twiggs County. -Mr. Burns was born in
Twiggs County, the son of the late Mercer and Clara Asbell Burns. He had lived
in Bleckley County for the past six months and was a member of New Richland
Baptist Church. He was retired chief radio operator with the Georgia State
Patrol, with 34 years of service. He was a Veteran of WWII, having served in the
U.S. Marines. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Mercer Burns, Jr.
-Survivors include his wife, Mildred Clark Burns of Cochran; daughter and
son-in-law: Robin and Donnie Howell of Cochran; three grandchildren: Amy Howell,
Shannon Howell and Christopher Howell, all of Cochran. -Family will meet friends
at Fisher Funeral Home Tuesday night from 7:00 until 9:00P.M. and may be
contacted at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Howell, Robert Lassiter Road,
Cochran. -Fisher Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
