Annie Clara Bell (maiden name Asbell) Burns was born abt 1888 and died
5-25-1963(GA DC# 16794) and is buried in New Richland Baptist Church Cemetery in
Twiggs County. Her husband, Mercer Burns, is buried in Evergreen Baptist Church
Cemetery in Bleckley County. Her father, George Robert Asbell, is buried in the
Asbell/Lamb/Sanders Cemetery in Twiggs County. Her mother, Georgia Davis Asbell,
is buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Twiggs County.

                                                                 Mrs. Mercer Burns

COCHRAN--Funeral services for Mrs. Mercer Burns, 75, of Route 4, Cochran, who
died Saturday night in a Hawkinsville hospital, will be held at 3PM Monday in
New Richland Baptist Church. The Rev. E. N. Sweeney and the Rev. Sam Waldron
will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Burns was a lifelong resident of Twiggs County. She was the former Clara
Asbell. She was a member of New Richland Baptist Church and a member of the
Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Mercer Burns; one son, Robert M. Burns; one
granddaughter, Miss Robin Burns, all of Cochran; three sisters, Mrs. Tom Lee and
Mrs. H. J. Waters of Danville and Mrs. Olin Ledbetter of Jeffersonville; three
brothers, L. Z., E. E. , and Horace Asbell, all of Macon.
The body will be at the Burns home until Monday, it will then be removed to the
church.
Fisher Funeral Home is in charge.
