                          George E. Asbell
 Funeral services for George E. Asbell of 1852 College Street, who died in a 
local hospital Sunday evening, were held in the chapel of Hart's Mortuary at 
3:30pm yesterday. The Rev. Clinton A. Forrester and the Rev. J. Alton Davis 
officiated and burial was in Macon Memorial Park.
 Mr. Asbell was born in Twiggs County but had lived in Macon most of his life. 
He was a merchant, a veteran of World War I, and a member of the Tattnall 
Square Baptist Church.
 Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Claudia Eloise Jones, Macon; three 
daughters, Mrs. Theron Sauls, Mrs. Charles Fisher, and Mrs. Ben Oxley Jr., all 
of Macon; three sons, Fred W. Asbell, Gainesville, and george W. Asbell and 
Jimmy R. Asbell, both of Macon; four grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Tom Lee 
and Mrs. Hoyt Waters of Danville, and Mrs. Mercer Burns and Mrs. Olin 
Ledbetter, both of Cochran; four brothers, Clarence Asbell, Danville, Lucien 
Asbell, Jeffersonville, and Emory E. Asbell and Horace B. Asbell, both of Macon.

COMPILER NOTE -- He had only three brothers, Lucian Clarence Asbell is one 
person.

Additional Comments:
George was born 21 Feb 1891 to George Robert Asbell and Georgia Ann Davis. 
George is buried in the Asbell/Lamb/Sanders Cemetery in Twiggs County and 
Georgia is buried in Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Twiggs County. His 
wife is also buried in Macon Memorial Park.
