Eighth Ave., died Wednesday, May 5, 1993, in McKennan Hospital. Mr. Parmley was born July 12, 1913, in Canistota. He married Bernice Hansen on Oct. 3, 1940, in Humboldt. He farmed in the Montrose area. In 1951, he moved to Sioux Falls an engineer at the Cataract Hotel. He was also a scrap metal dealer and worked for H & L. Recycling. Survivors include his wife, Bernice; three sons: Ron and his wife, Joyce of West Union, Iowa; Dennis and his wife Judy, of Blaine, Minn.; and Darrell and his wife, Dawn of Sioux Falls; three daughters; Mrs. Terry (Charlene) Hemmingson of Prescott, Ariz.; Mrs. Charles (Janet) Carey of Sious Falls; and Mrs. Mike (Debra) Bird of Longmont, Colo.; 15 grandchildren; three great grandchildren;one brother, Roy and his wife Betty of Sioux Falls; and four sisters: Lena Shaner of Prescott; Ethel Nordstrom of Canton; Ann Wittrock and Josephine Jens, both of Sioux Falls. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday in Peace Lutheran Church, with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. today in Barnet-Lewis Funeral Home, with the family being present frm 7 - 8 p.m. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to McKennan Hospital.
