Died at his seat in Davidson County, Tennessee on the 17th May after an 
illness of 19 days, Isaac Battle, Esq. in the 43d year of his age. He was a 
native of Edgecombe County in this state where he had resided until a few 
years ago. He is well known to have been a man of steady and industrious 
habits and to have sustained a moral and religious character. In his death the 
public have suffered a loss but his wife and tender offspring a bereavement 
which cannot be repaired.
