  Mrs. Toye Elizabeth Moats, 94, of Sparks, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, at 
Memorial Convalescent Center of Adel. 
Born Jan. 11, 1914, in Sparks to the late Author Rentz and the late Sally Young 
Rentz, she lived in Berrien County and Cook County most of her life. She was of 
the Pentecostal Faith and a homemaker. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Edward Moats, two sons, 
Cecil and Rodney Moats, five brothers, and three sisters.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Laurence and Elizabeth Moats 
of Pelham and Herman and Judy Moats of Ocala, Fla.; four daughters and sons-in-
law, Frances Luchini of Lima, Ohio, Betty Majors of Parrott, Vivian and Malcom 
Stone of Nashville, and Janice and Horace Miley of Sparks; three sisters, Nora 
Rowe of Valdosta, Carolyn Angles of Anniston, Ala., and Lillian Johnson of 
Valdosta; 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-
grandchildren. 
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, in the chapel 
of Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Mitchell Clements 
officiating. Burial will follow in Longbridge Cemetery. The family will receive 
friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009, at the funeral home.      
Pallbearers were Phillip Majors, Roger Fraley, Buddy Stone, Frank Moats, Steve 
Stone, Bobby Stalnaker, Larry Moats.
 Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home of Adel was in charge of arrangements.
