ADEL -- Viola B. Miley, 86, of Adel passed away Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, at Adel 
Memorial Convalescent Center after a lengthy illness. She was born July 8, 
1917, to the late Jack and Elizabeth Tucker Baker, and stepmother, Maggie K. 
Baker. Mrs. Miley was of the Holiness faith and was a homemaker. She loved to 
work in her yard and enjoyed cooking, fishing and quilting.

 Survivors include her six sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Gail Miley of 
Enigma, Horace and Janice Miley of Sparks, Charlie and Jackie Miley of 
Valdosta, John and Jean Miley of Valdosta, Larry and Tabitha Miley of Nashville 
and David Miley of Adel; three daughters and sons-in-law, Dollie "Dot" and Jim 
Orr of Nashville, Doris and Roger Morgan of Adel, Margie and Jimmy Lightsey of 
Sparks; one brother, William Baker of Jacksonville, Fla.; 52 grandchildren; 82 
great-grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death was her husband, 
B.H. "Doc" Miley; four daughters, Pauline Greene, Beverly Ann Clements, 
Josephine Chafin, and Lola Miley; one son, Tommy Henry Miley; two brothers and 
two sisters.

 Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004, at Purvis 
Funeral Home with the Rev. A.D. Connell officiating. Burial will follow in 
Oakridge Cemetery in Tifton. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. 
today at Purvis Funeral Home in Adel. -- Purvis Funeral Home of Adel
