 Walter Preston "Pete" McClelland, 97, of Lenox died May 20, 2005 at Beverly 
Healthcare in Tifton.

 Born January 12, 1908 to the late Ossie Cincinnati and Elizabeth Pendarvis 
McClelland of Enigma, he was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and served as 
postmaster in Lenox. After retirement, he worked for Williams Investment Co. of 
Adel. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church of Lenox where he served in 
many capacities.

 Survivors include his wife, Ethel Wilson McClelland of Lenox; one sister, 
Annie Lou Connor.

 Funeral services were held May 22 at Lakeview Baptist Church with the Revs. 
Kurt Smith and Steve Pickern officiating. The congregation sang "Amazing 
Grace," "Victory in Jesus," and "He Touched Me," accompanied by Alice Pickern, 
organist, and Susie Betts, pianist, "Alpha and Omega" and "I Want to Walk Every 
Day With My Lord," were sung by New Creation.

 Interment was in Woodlawn City Cemetery in Adel.

 Active pallbearers were Tom Connor, Ralph McCranie, Preston Wilder, Jim 
Lindsey, Carlton Wilson, Matt McClelland.

 Deacons of Lakeview Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers.

 Purvis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
