The Berrien Press -- Lucille Lawrence, 81, of Jamestown, RI, died June 14, 
2007 at Vanderbilt Rehabilitation Center in Newport, RI.
 Born May 11, 1926 in Cook County to the late William and Alice Leola Pearl 
Schoffield Avery, she was a homemaker and former bookkeeper with Independent 
Life Insurance Company, retired schoolbus driver for the Jamestown School 
District, retired florist, active member of Central Baptist Church in 
Jamestown, and a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity.
 Survivors include her husband, Norman E. Lawrence of Jamestown; two 
daughters, Patricia S. Nascimento of Coventry, RI and Janice C. Ryng-Dutton of 
Jamestown; four sons, Norman E. Lawrence, Jr. of Pennsylvania, George S. 
Lawrence of Everett, WA, William A. Lawrence of New Bedford, MA, Timothy S. 
Lawrence of Jamestown; one sister, Alice Frances Tatum of Jacksonville, FL; 
one brother, John A. Avery of Ray City; 11 grandchildren, nine great-
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by seven siblings.
 Funeral services were held June 23 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral 
Home with Rev. Jimmy Parker officiating.
 Interment was in Brushy Creek Cemetery in Cook County.
 Selected family members served as pallbearers.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
