 Veston L. Hayes, 73 of Adel died at his residence after a short illness. 

He was born on Oct. 27, 1931, in Cook County to the late Robert Slaten and 
Julia Savilla DeLoach Hayes. He lived in Cook County all of his life. He was a 
retired welder with Production Anodizing and member of Greggs Baptist Church. 
He is preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Rentz Hayes. 

 He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Wade and Pam Hayes of Adel, 
Dennis and Julie Hayes of Lake Park; nine grandchildren; and one sister, Vivian 
Lasseter of Adel. 

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home 
Chapel with the Revs. James Rice and James Cagle officiating. Tiffany Rice 
sang "Amazing Grace," "Blessed Redeemer" and "No Tears in Heaven." Brenda Rice 
served as pianist.

 Burial will be held in Forrest Hill Church Cemetery. —

 Active pallbearers were Leif Purvis, David Shirah, Stacey Griffin, Dale Rentz, 
Terry Rentz, Woody Robinson.

 Honorary pallbearers were Kirk Hand, Billy Crowley, Bob McCranie, Lavon Webb.

 Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
