 Ruby Thigpen Exum, 63, of Sparks died December 21, 2006, at South Georgia 
Medical Center.
  Born July 5, 1943 to C. J. Thigpen of Valdosta and the late Louise Lassiter 
Thigpen, she was a homemaker and member of Nashville Holiness Church.
  Survivors, in addition to her father, include one son, Kenneth Exum of 
Nashville, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Derrill and Frances Thigpen of 
Greenville, FL. and R.L. and Marty Thigpen of Adel; three sisters and brothers-
in-law, Velma Bennett of Sparks, Barbara and Hilton Griner of Nashville, and 
Shirley and David Williams of Adel; one grandchild, Tracey Campbell; several 
nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Cook, and 
one brother, Leon Thigpen.
  Funeral services were held Sunday, December 24, at Purvis Funeral Home with 
the Revs. Johnny Smith and Donnie Sloan officiating. Music selections 
included "Amazing Grace" sung by Keith Blunt, "I Wish You Were Here" sang by 
Kathy Wright and "The Prettiest Flowers Will Be Blooming" on cassette.
  Interment followed at Sparks Cemetery.
  Pallbearers were Keith Blunt Sr., Keith Blunt, Gene Joiner, Michael Thigpen, 
Brandon Moore, Junior Thigpen, Billy Tatum, and Marshall Tatum.
  Purvis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
