 James W. Exum, 87, of Adel died October 5, 2005 at his residence.

 Born April 12, 1918 to the late Ben and Lizzie Cook Exum, he was retired from 
the railroad and attended First Assembly of God Church in Adel. He was married 
to the late Doris Exum.

 Survivors include three sons, James Earl Exum of Crystal River, FL, Carroll 
Exum of Ray City, Don Exum of Blakely; two daughters, Judy Wilson of Adel and 
Margaret Sirmans of Adel; 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren.

 Funeral services were held October 7 at First Assembly of God with the Revs. 
James Tyson, Chris Newbern and Don Martin officiating. Musical selections 
included "Go Rest High On That Mountain," sung by Brent Exum and "Beulah Land," 
by Ron Gooden.

 Interment was in Long Bridge Cemetery.

 Active pallbearers were Neal Giddens, Wayne Giddens, Johnny Smith, Donnie 
Branch, Bobby Craft, Christopher Craft, Charles Bristol.

 Honorary pallbearers were the Odyssey Healthcare Hospice Team.

 Purvis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
