Charles Wayne Blanton, 68, of Adel died February 3, 2013, at Smith Northview 
Hospital in Valdosta. He was born June 2, 1944, in Nashville to the late Austin 
Neal and Edith Jeanette Lord Blanton. He was a devoted member of First Assembly 
of God of Adel and a lifelong cabinet maker. He also served as Building and 
Zoning Administrator for Cook and Berrien counties, and for many years, enjoyed 
working with the Cook County School System. Mr. Blanton dearly loved his Lord, 
his family and his many friends.
 Survivors include his wife, Sue Davis Blanton of Adel; son and daughter-in-
law, Andy and Jerri Blanton of Ricky Mount, NC; daughter and son-in-law, Traci 
and Phillip Turner of Nashville; four grandchildren, Austin Turner and Lauren 
Turner, both of Nashville and Amanda Blanton and Thomas Blanton, both of Rocky 
Mount, NC; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Doyle Blanton of Hilliard, FL and 
Roger and Tanetta Blanton of Douglas; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean 
and Earl Smith of Nashville, Sue and Eddie Van Zant of Hilliard, FL, Ann and 
Duren Bailey of Douglas, Luneal and Homer Harper of Nashville, and Faye and 
Lamar Jones of Nashville.
 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary 
Blanton.
 Funeral services were held February 5 at 2 p.m. at First Assembly of God in 
Adel with Rev. Chris Newbern and Rev. Jerry Jett officiating.
 Pallbearers were Eric Moore, Kenny Davis, Randy Davis, Timmy Davis, Terry 
Smith, Denny Smith, Garrett Williams, Tyler Quick.
 Donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation at www.kidney.org.
 Boone Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
