  Geraldine Gerri Mathis Bone, 88, of Adel passed away September 11, 2015, at 
her residence.
 She was born January 6, 1927, in Nashville to the late John D. Dump and Eliza 
Swain Mathis. She graduated from Poplar Springs High School in 1945 where she 
was a star basketball player. She also attended the Perry School of Business 
School in Albany and worked at B. C. Moore's in both Adel and Nashville. She was 
a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Cecil and was not hesitant to share her 
testimony and love for Jesus with everyone she met.
 Mrs. Bone is survived by her three children, Jan (Tommy) Hayes of Valdosta, 
Stanley Bone of Adel, Vicki (Brad) Bynum of Valdosta; four grandchildren, Marlie 
Drummond of Ellijay; Jessie (Jason) Nelson of Kathleen; Bradley Bynum of Oxford, 
MS; and Aulden Bynum of Athens; and two great-grandchildren, Baliegh Drummond 
and Morgan Drummond. 
 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fletcherd 
Bone; a daughter, JoBeth Bone; a grandson-in-law, Michael Drummond; and nine 
siblings, Jimmy Mathis, Dewey Mathis, Roy Mathis, Phoenia Mathis Goodin, 
Marshall Mathis, J.D. Mathis, Eliza Jane Mathis Beaty, Robert Bob Mathis, and 
Clyde Mathis.
 Funeral services were held on Sunday, September 13 at 2 p.m. at Fellowship 
Baptist Church with Rev. Ike Jefferson and Rev. Johnny Hendley officiating. 
Members of Cecil Baptist Church sang What a Day that Will Be and God on the 
Mountain and Zach Johnson played Beulah Land on the keyboard.
 Interment followed at Poplar Springs Cemetery in Berrien County.
 Active pallbearers were Bruce Mathis, Marshall Mathis, Gerald Griffin, Wayne 
Taunton, Cotton Hewitt and Franklin Luke.
 Honorary pallbearers were Sonny Odom, Rene Cowart, Webster Johnson, Ken 
Register, John Fulp, Larry Raines and Sonny Mathis.
