TIFTON - Erlene Story Thompson, 85, of Tifton, died Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, 
at Bradley Place. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity United 
Methodist Church, with the Rev. Chris Ramsey and Dr. Fred Evers officiating. 
Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery. 

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. 

Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews and the McCord Sunday School Class 
of Trinity United Methodist Church. 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Albritton-Beaumont 
Funeral Directors Tiftarea Chapel. 

Born July 28, 1919, in Worth County, Mrs. Thompson was the daughter of C.A. 
Story and Sallie McKenzie Story, both deceased. She was also preceded in death 
by her husband, Chesley Ralph Thompson Sr., who died in 2000, and to whom she 
was married for 61 years; an infant twin brother, a sister, Carmen S. Cowart, 
and a brother, Buren Story. 

Mrs. Thompson had lived in Tift County most of her life and was a homemaker and 
a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She had been the fabric 
coordinator for Mary Lynn Fabrics, had been the manager of Fabrics, Inc., and 
retired as a custom framer at Stones, Inc. 

She was past president and an active member of Willing Workers Home 
Demonstration Club. She served in several capacities at Trinity United Methodist 
Church. Mrs. Thompson was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. 

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, C.R. and Myra Thompson of Chula; 
two daughters and sons-in-law, Sarinelle and Albert Potts of Tifton and Norma 
and Trenton Davis of Macon; one brother, Lum Story of Albany; one sister, JoAn 
S. Fox of Asheville, N.C.; 11 grandchildren, Ches Thompson, Tamara Thompson 
Parlor, Chad Thompson, Chris Thompson, Alex Thompson, Kimberly Potts Chapman, 
Robin Potts, Al Potts, Trent Davis, Dana Davis Deas and Ashley Davis; and 14 
great-grandchildren. 

Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors Tiftarea Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
