 Rev. Paul Carson Sumner, 83, of Omega went home to be with the Lord on June 21 a
at his residence.
 Born on May 9, 1928 in Colquitt County to the late Lawyer Sumner and Bessie 
Mae Lindsey Sumner. Rev. Sumner was a retired bi-vocational minister and farmer 
who loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He served 
the loving congregation of Lenox Church of God for 27 years and was 
energetically committed to everything that he did. He was a private pilot who 
also enjoyed boating and loved to fox hunt. In addition to his parents, he was 
preceded in death by two sisters, Billie S. Hester and Mary S. Lane, brother 
Cranford Sumner, grandson, Brad Crumley and three infant siblings.
 Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Fender Sumner of Omega; his children, 
Wendell and Bobbie Sumner and Patrice S. and Danny Dickens all of Omega; 
brothers and sisters-in-law, Doyle and Faye Sumner and Gene and Cora Mae Sumner 
all of Sparks; his grandchildren, Karla Crumley Erskine, Jessica and Lee 
Powell, Mandy and Bert Ponder, Justin and Katie Sumner, Tara and Asah Hudgins, 
Trent and Jacie Bryan, Shan and Benjy Scarbor, Jeremy and Autumn Dickens, 
Jessica and Denver Braswell, and Jacie Dickens; great grandchildren, Blayne, 
Summer and Zander Erskine, Sumner and Mary Bella Powell, Karoline and Karson 
Ponder, Lawson Paul Sumner, Ava and Alivia Dickens, Shelby, Addi and Laney 
Braswell  and one expected great grandchild, Emmalynn Bryan, and many nieces a
and nephews.
 Funeral services were held on June 25 at 11 a.m. at Union Grove Church of God 
in Eldorado with Rev. Kevin Vander Horn, Rev. Joseph L. Crumley, Dr. Fred M. Ev
Evers and Rev. Dwayne Atkinson officiating.
 Interment was in the Union Grove of God Cemetery.
 Active were his grandsons Justin Sumner, Blayne Erskine, Bert Ponder, Lee 
Powell, Jeremy Dickens, Denver Braswell, Trent Bryan, Asah Hudgins.
 Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Jones, David Keith, Ray Hunt, Sr., Ray Hunt, 
Jr., Jackie Crumley, Jerry Crumley, Bobby Hinson, Darvin Eason, Charles Surrence
Surrence, Joe Carroll Godwin, Ray Peele, Edd Powell, Lowell Hiers, Henry Crumley
Crumley, Jr., Roy Exum, Cecil Hall W.H. Thigpen, Everette Rowan, Charles Sumner.
 Rev. Sumner leaves behind his message, "I have fought the good fight, I have 
finished the course, I have kept the faith," - II Timothy 4:7
 Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
