JOHN POOLE IS DEAD AT TY TY

Funeral services were held at Ty Ty Monday afternoon for John Phillip Poole, 

64, a native of Schley county, who died unexpectedly at his home there Sunday 

morning.  The services were conducted by the Rev. D.C. Rainey and Rev. F.O. 

Mixon, of Tifton and burial was in the Ty Ty cemetery.  Mr. Poole was born in 

Schley county in 1875, a son of T.J. and Lou Walters Poole.  He had lived in 

Tift county for the past 25 years and for 20 years had been a policeman at Ty 

Ty.  He is survived by his father, Tom Poole, Ellaville; his widow who was 

Miss Vessie Dunn, of Schley county, and the following children:  Mrs. W.C. 

Bailey and Mrs. E.P. Lofton, Tifton; Mrs. R.L. Stephens, Sumner; Mrs. Robert 

Black, Vidalia; and Miss Ida Poole, Ty Ty; four brothers and four sisters; 

H.I. Poole and Mrs. Edgar Hill, Sylvester; Claude, Tom and Bob Poole, Mrs. 

Fletcher DeVane and Mrs. Bob Wall, Schley county; and Mrs. William Hill, 

Columbus.
