The Tifton Gazette 3 Oct 2007
JUNEAU, Alaska: Juneau resident William M. Paulk, Jr. (Bill) died Sept. 7,
2007, at Providence Alaska Hospital.

He was born April 22, 1939 in Tifton, GA. He graduated from Tifton High School
in 1958 and three days later began his 22-year distinguished career in the
United States Coast Guard. In 1963 he married hometown sweetheart Myrtle
Wilson. Together they raised their two sons Ronnie and Rodney. He retired
July 1, 1982, in Juneau, Alaska, and began his second career with the City
and Borough of Juneau, Public Works Water Utilities in January 1983. He
found great joy being a part of the USCG and CBJ. To say he loved his job
would be an understatement.

He loved the outdoors; boating, fishing, camping, hunting, sports, travel
and most of all spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, William M. Paulk, Sr., and mother
Weylene Paulk of Tifton, and brother Milton of Burkburnett, Texas.

He is survived by his wife Myrtle; son Ron (Chris); granddaughter Jacinta;
great-grandchildren Jasmine and Kevin, all of Anacortes, Wash.; son Rodney
(Jamie) of Juneau; brothers Glenn of Tifton and Dana (Deborah) of
Sharpsburg, and many nieces and nephews in Georgia, Florida, Mississippi
and Texas.

He loved the sea and wished to have his ashes spread there. His family will
honor that request.

The family wishes to thank all the St. Ann?s and Wildflower Court caregivers
for the love and care that they have given Bill during the past years. In
lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wildflower Court Care Center,
2000 Salmon Creek Lane, Juneau, Alaska, 99801.
