TIFTON: Tommy Gene Paulk, 67, of Tifton, formerly of Scooterville, died
Saturday, June 25, 2005, at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of
Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors, Tiftarea Chapel with the Rev. Bill
Barksdale officiating and J.D. Lindsey giving a eulogy. Burial will follow at
Paulk's Chapel Cemetery in Worth County.

Pallbearers will be Stacey Paulk, Tony Paulk, Michael Willis, Travis Webb and
J.W. Hurst. Members of the Disabled American Veteran's will serve as honorary
pallbearers.

Born September 12, 1937, in Tift County, Mr. Paulk was the son of the late Dutch
Paulk and the late Ruby Estelle Webb Paulk. He served in the Georgia National
Guard, the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy as a boom operator in a midair refueling
squadron during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a retired corrections officer and
was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. He was a Mason and Shriner for 35 years
and had served as the Senior Vice-Commander of the DAV Chapter #38 in Tifton for
15 years. Gene was a kind and gentle man who was known for his generosity toward
his fellowman. He was a loving husband and father to his children. He extended
this love to his stepchildren, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Wiley Paulk of Tifton; two sons and
daughters-in-law, Jeff and Kelly Paulk of Roanoke, Va., and Dutch E. and Kim
Paulk of Scooterville; one daughter and son-in-law, Jona Kay and Glenn McChesney
of Cape Coral, Fla.; stepchildren, Vickie L. and Mike Cone, Pam and Jim Young
and Joey Shear, all of Tifton; one brother and sister-in-law, Jim A. and Faye
Paulk of Scooterville; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Ruth P. Tillman of
Sylvester and Grace Willis Cook and Franklin Cook of Omega; grandchildren,
Nicole Mathis, Gene E. Paulk, Emily McChesney and Rachel McChesney; step
grandchildren, Amanda and Alex Burnette, Samantha and Dallas Peek, Candice
Young, Chaney Shear and one great-grandchild, also, a longtime friend, J.D.
Lindsey, Commander of the DAV Chapter #38 of Tifton and several nieces and nephews.
