Additional Comments:
Compiler Notes: Maggie's correct name is: Margaret Burch who was born in
Irwin County, Georgia on 16 August 1822. She died in Tift County on 29 Aug
1916. I've yet discover her parents. Mrs Smallwood noted author of The Burch
Family, thought she might be the daughter of Litterberry Burch. She married
1st Murden Fulghum who was born 1825 in Pulaski County and died in the
Confederate Hospital in Putnam County, Georgia in 1864. They were married 18
Feb 1843 in Irwin County, Georgia. She married 2nd John B. Parkerson on 10
Feb 1867 in Pulaski County. He was born: 1827 in Pulaski County, Georgia, Ive
yet to learn his date of death as they used marbles on John B's & Margaret's
grave. The marbles are long gone and the grave after some sometime all
evidence of any marking have disappeared. In the obituary it stated she had
been married three time. I am not aware of a third marriage and she is listed
as Maggie Parkerson. But in the obituary is a Nird Thomas. Could she have at
one time been married to a Thomas. I have no record of a 3rd marriage.
Margaret & John B. Parkerson are buried in the "Parkerson Cemetery" on Curtis
Copeland Place and you need permission to visit this cemetery as it is on
Private Property.
