 Mary Peterson Payne Meade, 90, of Tifton, died Thursday, January 13, 2010, at T
Tift Regional Medical Center.
 Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2010 in the 
chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors with the Rev. Gary Cadwell 
officiating. Burial will follow in the Willacoochee City Cemetery. The family 
will receive friends from 5 till 7 p.m., Friday, January 15, 2010, at
Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors.
 Pallbearers were Vance Peterson, Ray Peterson, Bill Chaplin, John P. Chaplin, Terry
Morris, Charles Parrish, Randall Moss.
 Honorary pallbearers will be the Tift Regional Medical Center Auxiliary Ladies and
Men. 
 Mrs. Meade was born April 5, 1919 in Atkinson County to Emmett Peterson and Susie
Marie Summerlin, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, A.A.
Meade, a brother, Henry Alton Peterson and a sister, Annette Peterson.
 Mrs. Meade had lived in Tifton most of her life and was a member of Brookfield
Baptist Church.

 Mrs. Meade had lived in Tifton most of her life and was a member of Brookfield 
Baptist Church. She was a member of Tift Regional Medical Center Auxiliary for 
many years. She was manager and bookkeeper for Farmers Hardware for 25 years. M
Mrs. Meade graduated from Pearson High School and later attended business s
school in Atlanta where her first job was at the Georgia State Capital.
 Mrs. Meade is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue Peterson Morris 
and Ellie Morris of Pearson and Betty Peterson Chaplin and Henry Nick Chaplin 
of Neeses, SC; a sister-in-law, Jean Young Peterson of Kirkland; several nieces 
and nephews whom she loved very much; and special friends, Mittie Dorminey, 
Lota Boltrucyk, Sarah Willis and Louise Woodham. 
 Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
