Kathryn Ross Hill

Mrs. Kathryn Ross Hill of Fitzgerald died Sunday, November 22, 1998, at Dorminy 
Medical Center. She was 80.
Mrs. Hill was born July 29,1918, in TyTy, the daughter of Arthur and Dollie 
Ross. She was retired Administrator of Ben Hill County Hospital and Dorminy 
Medical Center. Mrs. Hill was a member of First  Baptist Church of Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Hill had lived in the community since 1939. She had a business degree from 
ABAC. Her first job in Fitzgerald was  with the Williams & Co. Mrs. Hill worked 
for the hospital for 25 years, serving as Administrator for 21 years. She 
helped plan, build and equip Dorminy Medical Center. Mrs. Hill was former local 
Board Chairman for the Salvation Army and local Red Cross coordinator. She was 
a member of the Pilot Club and past president, a . member of the 
Floriculture ,Garden Club and was the Jr. Women's Club Mother of the Year in 
1984. Mrs. Hill was a  member of the Bethany Sunday School Class at First 
Baptist, where she also served on the Long Range Planning Committee, Outreach 
Leader, taught Youth Sunday School and Training Union and was a member of the 
Women's Missionary Union.
Mrs. Hill Was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Hill.
Survivors include one daughter, Kay Adams of Pell City, AL; two sons, Arthur 
and Ed Hill, both of Fitzgerald; 10
 grandchildren; one brother, Dr.T. C. Ross of McRae; two sisters, Judy Martin 
of Americus and Marilyn Brock of Huntsville, AL.
Services were held at First Baptist Church of Fitzgerald on Wednesday, November 
25 at 11 a.m., with Dr. Gene Wilder and Rev. Gerald Thomas officiating.
 Pallbearers were Judson Adams, Jay Adams, Greg Adams, Gray Adams, Marc Hill  
and Edward Hill, her grand
	sons.
	Interment was held at Evergreen Cemetery of Fitzgerald.
	Paulk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
