 Donald Griffin, 86, of Tifton died February 1, 2014, at his residence.
 He was born June 14, 1927, in Berrien County to the late Homer T. and Mattie 
Purvis Griffin. He was a retired farmer who had recently moved to Tifton from 
Ocilla. He attended Westwood Baptist Church in Ambrose. He was an avid fan of 
Bluegrass and gospel music and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching the 
Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs. In the late 1970's he owned a renowned 
field trial champion beagle named Wind Creek Been Late.
 Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Lorena Powers Griffin of Tifton; two 
daughters and sons in law, Connie and Jimmy Nolan of Fitzgerald and Joy and 
Dwight Wallace of Paragould, AK; two sons and daughters in law, Rev. Gary Lee 
and Leighann Griffin of Omega and Keith and Peggy Griffin of Ocilla; one sister, 
Mildred Griner of Tifton; nine grandchildren, Brittany Nolan, Miranda Simmons, 
Hannah and Christopher Phillips, Aldonna Griffin, Kelly Barrett, Ricky Barrett, 
Mindy and Gilbert Bordon, Jason Bennett and Lindsey Bennett; ten great 
grandchildren.
 A graveside service was held February 4 at 3 p.m. at Brushy Creek Baptist 
Church Cemetery in Irwin County with Rev. George Paulk officiating.
 Albritton Beaumont Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
