               J. L. Goodman Succumbs at 51; Funeral Friday
 Jimmy Lee Goodman, 51, resident of Tift County for most of his life, died 
Wednesday night at 602 Clyde Lane. He had been ill for a week but death came 
unexpectedly.
 Funeral services will be held at the Church of God at 4:30pm Friday with the 
Rev. H. V. Fowler and the Rev. Roy Horton officiating. Nephews will serve as 
pallbearers and interment will be in Tifton Cemetery (Oak Ridge Cemetery).
 Mr. Goodman was born July 13, 1908 in Tift County, son of George W. Goodman 
and Edna Jane Faulk Goodman. The parents now live at 706 Poplar Street.
 Mr. Goodman was a carpenter.
 Surviving in addition to the parents, are his wife, the former Vera Eason 
whom he married in March 1930; a son, Travis of Vero Beach, Fla.; four 
daughters, Mrs. Eddie Stone of Tifton, Mrs. Buddy Ellis of West Palm 
Beach,Fla., Mrs. A. J. Hobbs of Montgomery, Ala., and Miss Dianne Goodman of 
Tifton; a brother, Robert of Eldorado; a sister, Mrs. Lillian Phillips of 
Jacksonville, Fla.; and 13 grandchildren.
 The body will rest at the Bowen-Donaldson Funeral Chapel until the hour for 
services.
