  Mr. Joe Conger, 78, of Tifton, died Thursday, December 18, 2014, at Tift 
Regional Medical Center.
 Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Eastside Baptist Church with 
the Rev. Shane Ashley officiating.
 Interment will follow in Oakridge Cemetery.
 The family will receive friends 6-8 Saturday evening at Albritton Funeral 
Directors.
 The deacons of Eastside Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
 Mr. Conger was born January 9, 1936, in Berrien County to the late Barney and 
Bessie Viola Stephens Conger. In addition to his parents he was preceded in 
death by a grandson, Kenneth Sumner; two brothers, Odis Conger and Lee Wilson; 
two sisters, Orelean Statham and Ruth Adams; and one sister-in-law, Kate Wilson. 
Mr. Conger served in the United States Air Force. He retired from 
Firestone/Bridgestone Tire Company in Oklahoma after working at the Albany plant 
for many years. Mr. Conger was a former Sunday school teacher. He was a member 
of Eastside Baptist Church. He loved the Florida Gators and enjoyed bowling and 
baseball and softball which he played up until he was 63 years old.
 He is survived by his wife, Zelma Spradlin Conger of Tifton; daughters and 
sons-in-law, Linda and Don Sumner of Brookfield, Renee and Byron Courtoy of 
Tifton and Brenda and Bill Plymel of Adel; sons and daughter-in-law, Gene and 
Rhonda Vickers of Crestview, FL, and Larry Vickers of Nashville; 13 
grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a sister-
in-law, Delma Conger of Nashville; a brother, Collis Adams of Nashville; and 
numerous nieces ands nephews.
 Flowers are being accepted or donations may be made to Eastside Baptist Church, 
P.O. Box 540, Tifton, GA 31793.
