LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT
OF
MARY CRIDER
1844

In the name of God, Amen.  I Mary Crider, (widow of David Crider) of 
Elklick Township Somerset County, state of Pennsylvania, do make this 
my last will and testament, in manner following, to wit,
1.  I give and bequeath unto my granddaughter, Civilla Wagner the 
bureau which stands now in her father's house, the bed in which I sleep.
2.  Unto my beloved daughter Mary, I give and bequeath my stove and 
pipes, my cupboard all my carpets, my table, one kettle, iron pot, 
Dutch-oven, one skillet, the bed and bedding which is up stairs 
(in my house) and the remaining part of my furniture, my clothing, 
and I give unto my two beloved daughter, Mary and Eve, 
(share and share alike).  All my potatoes and the other vegetables in 
my garden, three bushels of wheat at E. Wagner's and 3 at 
John Beaghley's and the sum due by him I also make over unto my 
daughter Mary.  Further it is my will that my son-in-law, Elijah Wagner
pay, out of my money which he loaned of me, all my debts and funeral 
expenses, and the residue I give and bequeath equally unto my said two 
daughters, Eve and Mary.  What small sums may be standing out for work 
viz. Mary is to have.  As to my real estate, consisting of one house, 
stable and lot (in the town of Salisbury) on which I now reside, I give 
and bequeath unto my said daughter Eve and to her heirs, forever.  With 
this proviso that my said daughter Mary shall have the right of 
occupancy during her natural life.  In testimony whereof I hereunto set 
my hand and seal; at Salisbury, in said county of Somerset, the twenty 
third day of December, AD one thousand eight hundred forty four.  

PS.  My son-in-law Elijah Wagner I constitute and appoint my executor 
to this my last will and testament.  Lastly I request that my neighbors 
and friends Joseph Stutzman and John Smith, become subscribing witnesses 
to this my last will and witness my hand and seal this day above 
written.

Somerset County SS

February 10, 1845 personally appeared before me John O. Kimmel_____ for 
the probate of wills and granting letters of administration in and for 
said county Joseph J Stutzman and John Smith the subscribing witnesses 
to the written instrument of ________ who being duly qualified do 
depose and say that they were present and saw and heard the above named 
testatrix sign seal publish pronounce and declare the forgoing 
instrument of _______ as and for her last will and testament and that 
at the time of so doing she was of sound mind memory and understanding 
to the best of their knowledge observation and belief.
