Written: April 15, 1879

I Mordecai Cochran of Tyrone Township Fayette County Pennsylvania do make and 
publish this my last Will and Testament thereby revoking any and all Wills by 
me therefore made.  First I command my soul to Almighty God trusting to his 
goodness and mercy.  Second I give and devise to my son Lutellas Cochran and 
to his heirs and assigns forever: one hundred acres of the North Eastern part 
of my farm in Tyrone Township aforesaid to be run off a line commencing on the 
Stewart-Strickler line, at that point nearest the falls in the run and running 
thence by a straight line to such a point on the line of land of Cochran and 
Keeister as will give to him the said one hundred acres.  He paying to my 
Executor of my estate, the sum of Seven Thousand dollars in seven annual 
payments without interest the first payment to be made in one year after my 
decease - and this sum I charge on the land devised to him.  Third I give and 
devise to my son Mark Mordecai Cochran and to his heirs and assigns forever 
the residue of my land in said Township being the balance of my home farm the 
piece known as the Beatty tract and two acres purchased by me from Stevar H. 
Strickler containing in all about seventy four acres - He paying to my 
Executors for my estate the sum of two thousand dollars in seven annual 
payments without interest - the first payment to be made in one year after my 
decease and this sum I charge on the land devised to him. Fourth I give and 
devise to my sons James W. Cochran,  Lutellas Cochran and Mark Mordecai 
Cochran and to their heirs and assigns forever a piece of coal I own in the 
land of James Cochran adjoining my home farm containing five acres more or 
less together with the right of way to and from the same over my other land as 
now used. Fifth I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Ann Cochran fifteen 
hundred dollars: to my daughter Alice Cochran twelve hundred dollars: to my 
daughter Catharine, wife of Jacob Harris nine hundred dollars which with the 
horse herefore furnished by me to her husband valued at one hundred dollars 
makes one thousand dollars: to my daughter Melinda wife of Hugh Darsie one 
thousand dollars: to my daughter Margaret wife of George Strickler one 
thousand dollars: the same to be for her sole and separate use: to the six 
children of my daughter Esther decd who was intermarried with Robert Q. 
Fleming fifty dollars each. (unk wd) three hundred dollars: and to the three 
children of my son Alexander decd two hundred dollars each making six hundred 
dollars.  These legacies are to be paid to the legalees proportionately by my 
Executors, as fast as money shall come into their hands after paying debts and 
expenses. Sixth I give and bequeath to my son Lutellas a horse to be selected 
by him, my buggy, the organ and the large copper kettle: and to my daughters 
Mary Anne and Alice a saddle. Seventh All the rest and my residue of my estate 
I give and bequeath to my living children and to the children of those who are 
or may be dead - the children of those who are or may be dead to take among 
them such share as their deceased parent would have taken under this paragraph 
if alive.  Eighth I make (unk wd) and appoint my sons Lutellas Cochran and 
Mark Mordecai Cochran Executors of this my said last will and testament 
Witness my hand on this 15th day of April 1879.

Signed by the testator Mordecai Cochran and declared by him to be his last 
Will and Testament in our presence and we in his presence and in the presence 
of each other and at his request have hereunto subscribed our names as 
witnesses this 15th day of April 1879.

(Seal)                    Be it remembered that on the 10th day of January 
1881, before me John W. Darby Register for the Probate of Wills and granting 
Letters  of Administration in and for said County came D. B. Sambaugh and C. 
E. Boyle subscribing witnesses to the forgoing instrument of writing 
purporting to be last Will and Testament of Mordecai Cochran deceased who 
being duly sworn according to Law did each depose and say that they were 
personally present and saw Mordecai Cochran sign and seal the foregoing 
instrument of writing and heard him declare the same to be his last will and 
testament when of sound and disposing mind and memory to the best of their 
belief that they signed their names as Witnesses thereto by request of the 
said Testator in his presence and in the presence of each other that they know 
of no undue influence being used in making said Will or any later Will made.  
In testimony Whereof I have herein set my hand and official at Uniontown  the 
date above written.
