Will of James BEATTY                                  April 10th,1887

I James Beatty being of sound mind & disposing memory so make this my last 
Will and Testament.  First, I give my soul to God and body to the dust which
it come.  Second, I ordain that all my just debts and liabilities shall be 
paid.  Third, My dear wife Frances A Beatty shall have the West end of the 
house in which we now reside together with all the household goods and other
property except papers and books necessary for the settlement of my estate,
she is also to have the piece of land containing the orchard and lying 
between the public road and land of D. C. Work & Euguine Edwards to have and 
hold for herself and children which she may or the children live. The East
town rooms now held by Alice Beatty to remain in her possession while she
shall live, the two under rooms and hall shall be used jointly while they 
may all live. Fourth, I also ordain that the fifty four acres of land to be
deeded to C. S. Beatty while he lives and then to his children for their use
and benefits and in testamony I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day
and year above written.

My wife Frances A Beatty to have my cow and the colt. My daughter Alice Beatty
to have three cows as her own. There will be found among my books, an account
entitled, The cost of the Uniontown Democrat, which with the interest in the
present cost of paper, now when that amount of money is paid, then the paper
to go to Joseph Beatty but in case that is not done, then the whole concern
is to be sold and the first cost of interest paid to my estate. The house in
which John Sherrer lives, he shall have while he lives by a nominal rent.
There shall be my trustees appointed by court to settle up my estate. My wife
shall have the privilege to retain her dower in the house farm as long as
she lives. John Long shall have the privilege if he wishes to stay on the 
farm on which he now resides until the whole is settle up. I wish some person
to take charge of my books and papers and such fair copies in book for that
purpose so that old accounts may be settled with justice to all parties and
in testimony, I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year before
written.

Be it remembered that on this 19th day of May A.D., 1887 before one Chas D 
Conner, Register of Wills in and for said county personally came James Darby,
esq, and George B Graham both to me personally known and did depose and say
that they were each personally acquainted with James Beatty whose name is
signed to the foregoing testiment of writing purporting to be the last Will
and Testiment have often seen him write and from their knowledge of his 
writing believe his signature to the foregoing instrument to be genuine and
in his own proper handwriting that they know of no undue influence being
used in making said will or any later will made by him.

Now May 19th, 1887, The testimony of the above witnessses being adjudged
efficient. I do hereby admit the foregoing will to probate and order the 
same to be recorded as such. Given under my hand, at Uniontown the above
