 Michael Earl Patterson, 47, of Valdosta died Nov. 22, 2008 at Brooks County 
Hospital.
 Born in Cook County on March 20, 1961 to Kathleen Brown Patterson of Adel and 
the late Earl P. Patterson, he was a life long resident of this area and had 
worked as a sheet metal craftsman. He was associated with the Lowndes County 
Firefighters as chief and was a member of the Red Knots Chapter 17. He was the 
2004 Triple Crown Champion in Taekwondo with ATA in Valdosta. He was an honor 
graduate in criminal justice at Central Georgia Tech in Macon and was an avid 
motorcycle rider. He was a Protestant by faith.
 Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Cynthia Denise 
Patterson of Valdosta; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Roscoe and Jessica 
Patterson of Adel, Samuel Blake Patterson of Nashville, two daughters, 
Christina Leigh Baxter and Danielle Denise Parker, and one son, Matthew Shane 
Parker, all of Valdosta; grandchildren, Gabriel Patterson, Tyler Patterson, 
Hunter Baxter, Alexia Baxter; brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Janie 
Patterson of Adel; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and John Alford of Madison, 
FL; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in 
death by his grandparents, Otis and Zetta Lee Katie Brown and George and Dora 
Brown Patterson.
 Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Nov. 25 in the chapel of Carson McLane 
Funeral Home with Pastor Franklin Walden, Jr., and Dr. Clyde Stokes officiating.
 Burial was in Friendship Cemetery in Hahira.
 Carson McLane Funeral Home of Valdosta was in charge of arrangements.
