 Dr. Alfred Al Mr. Mac Barnett McRae, 85 of Lake Park died at his home Ap
April 6, 2010.
 Born Sept. 16, 1924 in Palmetto, FL to the late John Duncan and Carrie Emma N
Norris McRae, he graduated from Lynchburg College in 1963 with a Bachelor of S
Science degree in Physics. He obtained his Master of Education degree in V
Vocational Education in 1980 and his Education Specialist degree in Education A
Administration in 1993 from Georgia State University. He was retired from V
Valdosta State University as a Computer Science professor. He was instrumental i
in starting the Education program at the Kings Bay campus. He was an avid g
golfer at the Francis Lake Golf Course and a member of the Hustlers Golf Club. H
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force and was a member of L
Lake Park United Methodist Church.
 Survivors include his wife, Patricia Patty McRae of Lake Park; daughter and 
son-in-law, Judith Faye McRae and Billy Little of Lynchburg, VA; sons and 
daughter-in-law, Alfred Barnett, Jr. and Linda McRae of Charleston, SC and 
Riley Llewellyn McRae of Goodspring, TN; step-daughter and her husband, Jane 
and Skip Edmonds of Nashville; half-sister and her husband, Carolyn Faye McRae 
and Kevin Cummings of West Palm Beach PL; half-brother and his wife, Larry 
Jerome and Elaine McRae of Green Acres City, FL; nine grandchildren, 14
great-grandchildren, one great
grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter. He is preceded in death by his 
son, Jackie McRae; step-mother, Evie Jane Ferrell McRae; sisters, Virginia 
McRae, Gwendolyn Ruth McRae Kersey; brothers, John Duncan McRae, Jr., and a 
half-brother, Edgar Monroe McRae.
 Funeral services were held April 9 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Carson McLane Fune
Funeral home with Father Tim Blanton officiation
 Interment was in Nashville City Cemetery.
 Carson McLane Funeral Home of Valdosta was in charge of arrangements.
