 Vonnie Harris Clanton, 90, of Hahira died August 6, 2006 at Berrien County 
Hospital.
 Born December 26, 1915 in Lowndes County to the late Paul Matthew and Pauline 
Harris Clanton, he was a retired glass installer. He was a member of Pineview 
Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army, WWII. He and his wife were 
residents of The Victory House in Nashville for the past two years.
 Survivors include his wife, Jewel Parker Clanton of Hahira; son, Wayne Clanton 
of Statem; daughters and a son-in-law, Sandra Pate of Rex and Sharon and James 
Stephens of Lakeland; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Sheila Clanton of 
Tallahassee, FL; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Doris Giddens of Hahira, 
Inez and L.T. Sellars of Clyattville, Ila Garner of Ft. Myers, Florida; 
grandchildren and their spouses, Ginger and Billy Jackson of Naylor, Teresa and 
John Rainers of Covington, Wayne and Christy Stecker of Burleson, TX, Matthew 
Hart of Sandy Springs; eight great grandchildren.
 Funeral services were held August 9 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Martin-McLane 
Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Sellars officiating.
 Interment was in Friendship Cemetery.
 Martin/McLane Funeral Home of Hahira was in charge of arrangements.
