Mrs. Burgsteiner Died After Short Illness

A well known Valdosta lady passed away Saturday afternoon at
the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. L. Taylor, 405 W. Central
Avenue.

Mrs. Burgsteiner, her husband and two daughters of Savannah,
were on a visit to her daughter and other relatives of the
city. As she was Leaving for Savannah Saturday afternoon,
she was stricken with paralysis while in the depot waiting
for the train, and died shortly after being removed to the
house.

She was 45 years of age at the time of her death, and before
her marriage she was Emma Jean Thomas, daughter of the late
Elias Thomas, Jr.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters,
Mrs. A. L. Taylor, of this city, Misses Mattie Lee and
Jimmie Burgsteiner of Savannah and one sister, Mrs. J. W.
Bloodworth, of Barretts, also a niece of Mrs. R. J. Walker,
of this city.

The funeral service was conducted at the house by Rev. N. H.
Williams, of the Methodist church.

The funeral service was concluded at Cat Creek cemetery by
Rev. E.L. Todd, where he paid a beautiful tribute to the
deceased as he had known her all her life and taught her in
school.

The pall bearers were Messrs. S. F. Barnett, E. C. Stewart,
E. J. Chapman, Chester Belote, J. E. Stewart and J. W.
Collins.

The family have the deepest sympathy of Valdosta friends in
their loss.
