Irwinville Rites Held for Mrs. Davis

  The funeral of Mrs. Able F. Davis, who died Monday morning, Sept. 11, at Tift 
General Hospital in Tifton was held Tuesday, Sept. 12 at the Irwinville 
Methodist Church at 3 p. m.
  The Rev. Bob Middleton and Rev. Martin Ash officiated and burial was in the 
Irwinville cemetery.
  Active Pallbearers were Lawrence Kittle, Bobby Walker, Stanley Tomberlin, 
Wycliff Griffin, Arthur Griffin Jr. and Wyndel Griffin.
  Honorary Pallbearers were J. W. Pierce, Hubert Saunders, Sam Caldwell, Marvin 
Towson, James Braswell, James Gibbs, J. W. Mixon, Jim York, Charles Young, 
Marion Tyler, Harvey Zorn, Roy bedwell, Bob Dixon and Sherman Worthington
  Mrs. Davis waw the daughter of the late Charles W. and Emma Smith Poole, born 
July 20, 1901 in Irwin county where she had lived all her life. She was a 
member of the Irwinville Methodist Church.
  Survivors are her husband, Abell F. Davis of Ocilla; two sons, W. A. (Cotton) 
Davis of Ocilla; and A. M. (Bubba) Davis of Fitzgerald; a daughter, Mrs Carroll 
Mcneill of Douglas; a brother, Clyde Poole of Jacksonville Fla; two sisters, 
Mrs. Arlie Shultz of Ocilla and Miss Frances Poole of Fitzgerald. Nine 
grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.
  Paulk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
