Final Rites Held For Mrs. Cannady

  Funeral services were held Monday September 11 at Old Valley Grove Church at 
3 p. m. for Mrs. Barzilla Roberts Cannady, who died Saturday Sept. 9 at the 
Osceola Nurseing Home following a long illness.
  Elder Ashley Griffin officiated and burial was in New Valley Grove cemetery. 
  Active pallbearers were Glen Hopson, Larry Smith, Eston Yawn, Eulas Cannady, 
Herman Cannady and Theo Cannady.
  Honorary pallbearers were Johnny Harper, Eldon Hall, Curtis Roberts and 
Ethridge Roberts.
  Mrs. Cannady was born December 11, 1881 in Irwin county where she had lived 
most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Richard and Nancy Whitley 
Roberts and was a member of Old Valley Grove Church.
  Survivors include four sons, Richard Cannady of Fitzgerald, Ellis Cannady and 
William Horace Cannady, both of Valdosta, and Algie Cannady of Tifton; five 
daughters, Mrs. J. C. Maye of Macon, Mrs Louise Yawn of Enigma, Mrs. Mitchell 
Hopson of Ocilla, Mrs J. D. Henderson of Gray and Mrs. Myrtice Bernier of 
Clearwater Fla.; a brother, Tally Roberts of Tifton, and a sister, Mrs. L. T. 
Myers of Lakeland Ga. Twenty-two grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and 
great-great-grandchildren also survive.
  Paulk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
