                 Funeral Services Held For John K. Barrs
 Funeral services for John K. Barrs of Ocilla, who died Friday evening at Irwin 
County Hospital, were held Sunday afternoon at Ocilla Primitive Baptist Church. 
He was 56.
 The Rev. Robert Sorrow was the officiating minister at the 3 o'clock church 
service. Music was provided by Mrs. Myrtle Royal, pianist, and a trio comprised 
of Mrs. Royal and Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Luke.
 Interemt was in the Ocilla Cemetery.
 Pallbearers were B. L. Stinson, Danny Woods, Jerry Barrs, Ronnnie Barrs, Artis 
Griner, and Kenneth L. Roberts.
 Born April 14, 1927 in Irwin County, the deceased was the son of the late John 
Henry and Annie Bethune Barrs. A retired employee of Luke Brothers Oil and 
Fertilizer Co., he was a US Army veteran of WWII, and a member of ther VFW and 
the Moose Lodge. A member of the Ocilla Primitive Baptist Church, he had lived 
in the county all of his life.
 Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Martha H. Barrs of Ocilla; two daughters, 
Mrs. Trellis Smith of Folkston and Mrs. Charlene Williams of Summerville, SC; 
two step-daughters, Mrs. Patricia Lupo of Athens and Mrs. Nelda Vigneri of 
Jacksonville, Fa.; a step-son, Jimmy Herod of Fitzgerald; four sisters, Mrs. 
Louise Griner and Mrs. Eugenia Woods, both of Ocilla, Mrs. Syble Webb of 
Douglas, and Mrs. Jeanette B. Roberts of Panama City, Fla.; and a brother, 
Lonnie Barrs of Ocilla; and seven grandchildren.
