 Funeral services for Mrs. John Ring, 71, were held at 2:oopm, Monday, November 
4, at Lax Holiness Baptist Church with the Revs Laster Rowe, J.C. Spardley, and 
Roy Gaskinsofficiating. Ineterment was in Lax Cemetery.
 Pallbearers were Billy Lanier, Russell Johns, Sammy Catherns, J.P.Chaney, 
Lawton Chaney and Roswald Allen.
 Honorary pallbearers were D.L.Woodrum, Ashley Harper, Hoyt Dill, J.W.Gray, 
E.L.Harper, and Hershel Daniels.
 Mrs. Ring, lifetime resident of Irwin County and Lax community, died Saturday 
November 2, at her home following a short illness. She was a member of Lax 
Holiness Baptist Church. Mrs. Ring was the formal Julia Chaney, was born 
January 18, 1892 in Ben Hill County and was the daughter of the late John W and 
Caroline Diantha Luke Chaney.
 Survivors include her husband of 51yrs, John G Ring, Sr., Rt 1, Ocilla, Ga, 
five sons, John G. Ring, Jr. College Park, Ga.,S/Sgt. Gabriel Ring, Ft. 
Campbell, Ky., Emmitt Ring, Jacksonville, Fla., Elton Ring, Ocilla, Ga., 
Charles Ring, Cordele, Ga., five daughters, Gussie Ring, Arssie Ring Boutwell, 
both of Ocilla, Ga., Telitha Ring Johnson, Waycross, Ga., Annie Ring Kight, 
Wray, Ga., and Juanita Ring Allen, Fitzgerald, Ga., two brothers, Dewey Chaney, 
Benny Chaney, both of Douglas, Ga., two sisters, Emma Chaney Joiner and Lezona 
Chaney Peaks, 20 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
 Paulk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements....
