 The Berrien Press -- Russell Revels, 70, of Dalton died October 20, 2006 at 
his residence.
  Born August 29, 1936 in Irwin County to the late Roy and Winnie Solomon 
Revels, he was a retired heating and air conditioning contractor, a former Ben 
Hill County Coroner, and former Ben Hill County Emergency Medical Service 
Director. He served in the U.S. Army and the Georgia National Guard. He was a 
Mason and a Shriner and a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Dalton. His body 
was donated to medical science.
  Survivors include his wife, Lettie Sirmans Revels of Dalton; sons and 
daughter-in-law, Mike and Jennifer Revels of Fitzgerald and Scott Revels of 
Tifton; daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Donald Champion of Fitzgerald; 
stepchildren, Greg and April Browning and Freddie and Laurel Browning, all of 
Dalton; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Walt Sumner of Fitzgerald; 
brother, Wayman Revels of Fitzgerald; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild. 
He was preceded in death by a stepson, Tracy Browning.
  A memorial service was held Oct. 23 at 4 p.m. at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in 
Fitzgerald with Rev. David Fisher officiating.
  Paulk Funeral Home of Fitzgerald was in charge of arrangements.
