Versie Purvis

The funeral service for Versie Moore Purvis of Berrien county, who died 
Tuesday, January 27, 1998 at her residence, was held Thursday, January 
29 at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla. She was 78.
Rev. George Paulk and Rev. Gerald Purvis officiated at the 2:00 p.m. 
service with interment in Spring Hill Cemetery in Irwin county.
Music was provided by Marvin Paulk on keyboard; singers: Brenda Paulk, 
Melinda Paulk and Marvin Paulk.
Pallbearers were David DeBerry, Joe Portier, Randall Busbin, Lamar 
Purvis, Tom Hattaway, and Gary Paulk.
The deceased was born May 24, 1919 in Berrien county to Edward "Babe" 
and Susie Jane Rowe Moore. A homemaker, she attended Riverbend Baptist 
Church and had lived in the community all her life. She was a member of 
the Order of Eastern Star, Osceola Chapter No. 431.
She is survived by husband, Floyd Purvis of Gladys Community; one 
daughter: Nellie Jo Spicer of Gladys Community; two grandchildren: 
Vickie S. King of Gladys Community and Troy Spicer, Jr. of Atlanta; and 
2 great grandchildren, Turner and Madison King of Alapaha.
Paulk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
