Clyde R. Paul

Mr. Clyde R. Paul of Wray died Sunday, September 13, 1998, at Osceola 
Nursing Home. He was 88.
Mr. Paul was born August 3,1910, in Stockton, the son of Claudie H. and 
Annie Smith Paul. He was a retired barber from City Barber Shop in Ocilla 
where he had been a barber for over 50 years. He was a member and deacon 
at Satilla Baptist Church of Irwin County.
Mr. Paul was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of 
the Battle of the Bulge and 87th Infantry Division.
He had lived in Irwin County most of his life and was a Mason for over 
57 years. He attended barber school in Moultrie and had been a barber in 
Douglas and Ambrose before coming to City Barber Shop. He was always 
willing to go and cut the hair of the sick and shut-in.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Luke Paul.
Survivors include his daughter, Mary Clyde Wright of Ocilla;two 
grandsons, Andy Wright of Wray and Eric Wright of Ocilla;a special 
friend, Mae Day of Ocilla; four brothers, Jerry Paul of Zephyrhills, FL; 
Harvey Paul
of West Green; John Paul of Castalia, OH and Gene Paul of Clyde, Ohio; 
three sisters, Ann Donaldson of Key West, FL; Hazel Paul of New Port 
Richey, FL and Kathryn Holland of Savannah; several nieces and nephews. .
Services were held at Satilla Baptist Church on Tuesday, September 15 at 
4 p.m., with Rev. Dan Johhson and Rev. Robby Rodgers officiating.
Interment was held at Satilla Cemetery.
Paulk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
