                             Mattie B. G. McDaniel
 SOPERTON--- Services for Mattie Bell Gillis McDaniel, 84, of Soperton, are 
scheduled for 1pm Wednesday at Sammons Funeral Home in Soperton. Rev. Nolan 
McDaniel and Rev. James Frost will officiate and burial will follow in Red 
Bluff Baptist Church Cemetery in Soperton.
 A native of Montgomery County, Mrs. McDaniel was the daughter of the late 
Ivey Gillis and the late Annie Morris Gillis and the widow of the late Henry 
McDaniel. She was retired from Oxford in Dublin and a member of Faith 
Missionary Baptist Church near Soperton. Mrs. McDaniel died on Sunday at a 
Dublin hospital.
 Survivors include three sons, Elmo McDaniel of Soperton, Eugene McDaniel of 
Macon, and Esra McDaniel of Orange Park, Fla.; two brothers, M. B. Gillis of 
Macon and M. D. Gillis of Florida; sisters, Georgia Brantley and Lula Thigpen, 
both of Mt. Vernon, Geneva McDaniel of Soperton, and Eloise Kiggs of Tampa, 
Fla.; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; ans 5 great-great-
grandchildren.
 Ricky McDaniel, Gilbert McDaniel, Jerry McDaniel, Rusty McDaniel, Dan Cauley, 
and Tommy Phillips will serve as pallbearers. Honorary escort are Thurston 
Branch, Buddy Byrd, Sammie Meeks, and M. E. Powell.

Additional Comments:
Mattie was born 5 Dec 1911. Her husband was John Henry McDaniel who is also buried at Red Bluff Cemetery in Treutlen County.
