 David E. Gilliam, Sr. 67 , of Ocilla, formerly of Nashville, died Wednesday, 
January 31, 2007, at Tift Regional Medical Center.
 Born January 31, 1940 in Leesburg to the late Lonnie Gilliam, Sr., and June 
Harper Gilliam Scott, he was a long haul truck driver and had lived in Ocilla 
for two years. He enjoyed fishing, watching old western movies, and living on 
the farm and raising animals.
 Survivors include his wife, Susie Hall Gilliam of Ocilla; two sons, David 
Gilliam, Jr. of Perry and Anthony E. Gilliam of Nashville; two daughters, 
Sandra J. Smith and her husband, Lee of Ocilla, and Holly Denise Gilliam of 
Dublin; brother, Lonnie Gilliam, Jr. of Covington; three sisters, Shirley 
Waites of Centerville, Lula Hardy of Perry and Betty Craver of Oxford; nine 
grandchildren, including special grandchildren, Jeremy and Amanda Smith and 
three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son.
 A memorial service was held on Saturday Feb. 3 at 3 p.m. at Westside Church of 
God, Jesup, with the Rev. Joe Hall officiating.
 Interment was in the church cemetery.
 Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements
