Bruni, Elizabeth E.             
BURNT HILLS Elizabeth Betty E. Bruni, 75, died Saturday, August 21, 2004 at
her home. Mrs. Bruni was born in Albany and was raised at the Albany Home for
Children. She worked many years at Montgomery Ward, where she was a member of
the Teamsters Union. In later years, she and her husband owned and operated
Dairy Queens in Hudson and Ghent, N.Y. She was active in the Widows Support
Group, and at the Parsons Child and Family Center (formerly the Albany Home
for Children). Betty was the wife of the late James Bruni. She is survived by
her children Nikki Torchia and James Bruni; her stepmother, Betty Elder; her
brothers, Robert Elder, Louis Doukas and George Doukas; her sisters, Barbara
Fuller and Mary Ann Downing; her grandchildren, George and Heather Whitcomb,
and Matthew and Dylan Torchia. Betty donated her body to the Anatomical Gift
Program at Albany Medical College. A memorial gathering will be held in the
Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Saturday afternoon from 2 to 4
p.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Those who wish may make memorial
contributions in Betty's name to the Parsons Child and Family Center, 60
Academy Rd., Albany, NY 12208.
